Eden Hazard makes joke about Manchester United’s tactics after Chelsea victory

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has joked about the close attention he received during the side’s 1-0 defeat of Manchester United at the weekend.

Alvaro Morata headed home Cesar Azpilicueta’s pinpoint cross in the 55th minute at Stamford Bridge and the goal turned out to be the winner as United lost more points on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

In the aftermath of Chelsea’s win, Hazard joked on Instagram that handling his two dogs was a significantly simpler task than dealing with United’s man-marking on Sunday afternoon.

‘Today’s marking in my other day job was a little easier than against Man U!’ the Belgian forward told his followers.

Former United forward Garth Crooks heaped praise on Hazard following his impressive performance against the Red Devils.

‘Eden Hazard did his best against Roma but not even he could energise his team. It was a different matter entirely against Manchester United,’ Crooks wrote in his BBC Sport column.

‘You just know when players are up for it and, from the kick-off, Hazard had every intention of hurting United whenever possible.’

PSG want Chelsea star to replace Edinson Cavani

We may be in November, but already the PSG rumours for next summer have begun in earnest.

There have already been plenty of reports linking Jose Mourinho with a move to PSG, where he would replace Unai Emery.

The Spanish coach has already had run ins with Brazilian superstar Neymar, so this seems entirely possible.

Who will replace Edinson Cavani
Another big name being linked with a PSG exit is Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani.

The former Napoli striker has failed to adapt to the arrival of Neymar, with the pair publicly arguing over penalty taking duties.

Cavani scored his 101st Ligue 1 goal at Angers on Saturday, yet his departure from PSG next summer is already seen as inevitable.

PSG want Alvaro Morata
On Tuesday, Marca (via the always excellent Sport Witness) have confirmed that PSG see Alvaro Morata, the Chelsea striker, as their Cavani replacement.

According to Marca, “PSG’s ‘leaders are clear, the successor of Cavani has to be Alvaro Morata’, say Marca. In that respect, both the player and his agents have been made aware of PSG”s interest.”

Considering Morata only joined Chelsea in the summer from Real Madrid and has been impressive since signing, it would be a huge surprise were the Spanish striker to leave so abruptly.

Is Alvaro Morata happy in London?
Ahead of last week’s Champions League match against Roma, Morata told Gazzetta dello Sport that adapting to London was not simple.

These comments were cleared up in the pre-match press conference when Morata confirmed he would sign a long term deal at Chelsea, if offered the chance.

At 25, and having signed on at Chelsea until 2022, PSG would likely have to pay a Neymar-type fee (222 million euros) to land Morata.
