Hazard expects to miss some Chelsea games

Eden Hazard has admitted that he expects to miss some games for Chelsea as the number 10 continues his comeback from an ankle problem.

Hazard’s injury with the National team kept him out of Chelsea matches for the start of the season. He has recovered but expects to miss more Chelsea games with the same injury. He scored twice as Belgium beat Cyprus 4-0 in their World Cup Qualifier.

The Blues forward scored 13 times in the Premier League last season to help Chelsea win the title with two games to spare ahead of bitter London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Hazard broke his ankle on international duty at the end of the 2017-18 season to sideline the Belgian forward for the west London side’s pre-season campaign.

The 26-year-old made his return to the Chelsea team for their 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital in the Champions League last month as he created Alvaro Morata’s equaliser.

Hazard was unable to prevent Chelsea from suffering a 1-0 loss to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge in their last Premier League fixture before the international break.

The Chelsea star has managed to avoid suffering a fresh injury during the current round of World Cup qualifiers but Hazard is still working his way back to peak fitness.

Indeed, the former PFA player of the year award winner admitted that he may have to miss some games as he makes a return to full fitness.

“I missed football for three months, it’s not easy to come back after a big injury,’ he said while on international duty,” Hazard is quoted as saying by Metro.

“But I worked during the summer – I just want to play football. ‘I will miss some games, I will play bad for some games. I just want to play football and try to bring the best of me.”

Chelsea have won the title in two of the past three seasons.
