Chelsea and Bayern duking out for same striker

Arjen Robben played for Chelsea before moving on. He eventually landed at Bayern Munich. Much like Ancelotti who is now out of his job at Bayern. Sacking their manager doesn’t mean that Bayern Munich will not actively pursue recruitment.

There recruitment has hit a snag apparently, as Chelsea are also involved for the same player as Bayern Munich and the player himself seems to be not forcing for a move to either of the clubs.

Bayern Munich are stepping up their chase for Hamburg striker Jann-Fiete Arp, according to Calciomercato.com.

The 17 year old revealed in an interview with German publication Bild back in August that he rejected a move to Chelsea before signing a new contract at his current club in June.

The forward explained that he didn’t think moving to London was a good idea as he saw the potential risks of such a move going wrong:

“It just doesn’t make any sense to join Chelsea as a 17-year-old. You have achieved near to nothing, basically have no experience in professional football. The risk is too high. It would have been nonsense to move abroad and neglect everything else.”

Arp signed a contract extension keeping him at Hamburg until 2019 instead, and the decision seems to be working out for the teenager currently. After returning from injury in mid September, he scored six goals in just two games for Hamburg’s under 19 side. This led to the Bundesliga club’s manager Markus Gisdol calling him up for the club’s senior side.

The German under 17 international came on for his debut against Werder Bremen at the end of last month, getting a few minutes of first team action in the 0-0 draw.

There is very little to be said of this news published by the Shed Ender

The player’s hesitation and understandable lack of interest at such a young age mean that either team is unlikely to sign him but you can’t make a definite call on this three way tussle.
