Chelsea are interested in signing Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The Sky Sports News reporter is claiming that the 24-year-old defender is one of a number of players Chelsea are keeping tabs on as they look to further bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of names this summer but have so far only concluded deals for Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in signing Aurier this summer and Solhekol has now claimed that Manchester United are keen to land the defender.
However, any potential deal is likely to be complicated by the fact that Aurier is currently appealing an assault conviction which means he cannot travel to the UK at the moment.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning, Solhekol said: “Another wing-back Chelsea are interested in is Serge Aurier.
“He’s lost his place at PSG because they’ve got a new right-back, Dani Alves, and he’s likely to leave Paris this summer.
“This deal, though, would be pretty complicated because Aurier is appealing against an assault conviction that means he cannot enter the UK at the moment.”
Chelsea are currently preparing for their Premier League opener against Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as they look to kick off their Premier League title defence with three points.
The west London side are also gearing up for a return to the Champions League this season following their title triumph last term.
