Pep Guardiola is keen to land one more top quality forward at the Etihad.
Manchester City beat Brighton 2-0 on the south coast in their Premier League opener on Saturday.
But even with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus leading his frontline, Guardiola is not satisfied.
Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe have both been targeted but to no avail.
As a result, one potential option that has emerged as a topic of discussion at the Manchester club is Hazard.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Guardiola himself has already spoken to the Chelsea man’s entourage.
Having made the approach, the City boss apparently believes signing Hazard would be a huge statement in the Premier League.
Guardiola has informed City’s hierarchy he would like to target a move for Hazard, who is currently recovering from injury.
Don Balon add it is now up to City to fulfil their orders to snatch the Belgium international from the champions.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with Hazard this summer.
But Manchester City could swoop as the club continue to back Guardiola in the transfer market.
The Manchester club have already added the likes of Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy to their ranks.
