CHELSEA have joined the race for Paris St-Germain star Serge Aurier.
The Ivory Coast international has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks.
Reports suggested the 24-year-old had been offered to Manchester United and a deal could be agreed if visa issues are resolved.
PSG are keen to offload the defender and have been offering him to numerous clubs in hope of completing a move.
However, according to French outlet Le10 Sport, Chelsea have upped their interest in Aurier.
They say the Blues have launched a £27m bid for the right-back with Antonio Conte eyeing defensive reinforcements for next season.
Aurier, who has spent the past three years on the books at the Parc des Princes, is currently banned from entering the UK.
The defender was found guilty of assaulting a police officer in Paris last year and was subsequently banned from crossing the channel.
It’s suggested Aurier has appealed against his conviction in the French courts, which is set to be heard next week.
Conte is keen to spend big with Champions League football returning to Stamford Bridge next season.
