Barcelona have been linked with a move for the Belgian and could step up their interest on Hazard if their bid to land Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool does not come to fruition.

After losing Nemanja Matic to Manchester United – a move which Conte did not want to happen – the Italian says decisions over Hazard’s future will not be made by him but by “the club”.

Conte said: “I don’t know what Eden would be worth. I expect him to play with Chelsea, it is not the right moment to lose a player.

“I have great consideration for this player because he is top quality but I repeat I am the coach and I can give my opinion but the final decision is always the club’s.”

Conte also says he sees no time in the near future where the Stamford Bridge club will be able to break the £100m barrier for a player.

The Chelsea chief, who signed Alvaro Morata for a club-record £70m this summer, added: “As for spending £100m, now is not the right moment for Chelsea to spend such a lot of money for one player.

“We need a lot of players and it is important to divide this amount of money to buy many players.”
