Gary Neville believes Chelsea have a rare breed in Marcos Alonso.
The Spanish defender moved to the west London side in a £17m deal during the 2016 summer transfer window.
Alonso established himself as a key player for the Chelsea team under Antonio Conte after blossoming into one of the Premier League’s best wing-backs.
Indeed, the former Bolton defender thrived in a 3-4-3 formation like his fellow wing-back Victor Moses as Chelsea won the title with two games to spare.
Chelsea won the title with two games to spare after finishing seven points clear of closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Conte has been linked with a move to sign cover at wing-back before the close of the transfer window despite the success of both Alonso and Moses.
The former Real Madrid defender scored either side of half-time to fire Chelsea to a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley last weekend.
Former Manchester United defender Neville spoke in glowing terms about Chelsea wing-back Alonso.
“It shouldn’t be taken for granted what they have there,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“To find someone of that size with that experience, a player who has matured in the game since being at Bolton, who is now getting more confident.
“I remember last year, when he went off at Old Trafford, they fell apart. He has had a brilliant day.”
Chelsea were 2-0 winners against Everton in their third Premier League game of the 2017-18 season.

Chelsea star in European Team of the Week after performance against Everton
The Premier League this week kept up a good record of players in Gazzetta dello Sport’s European Team of the Week.
Every Monday the grand old Italian newspaper pick of selection of the best performances from around Europe, whilst ignoring their own Serie A, and present them in an eleven.
A week ago, Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso was one of three Premier League players to find a place, after the Spaniard impressed and scored twice against Tottenham.
Today, Gazzetta choose three Premier League performers again, and Chelsea are the only English club to be featured in each of the two weeks so far. This time it’s Cesc Fabregas who finds his way in, after a great performance against Everton.
Fabregas scored the opening goal for Antonio Conte’s side against Everton, and was the star man as Chelsea beat Ronald Koeman’s men 2-0.
Despite all the claims of a crisis at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea looked good and have six points so far from three league games.
