On Costa’s lawyer’s comments

“Again I have to repeat the same thing, for me it is simple and I repeat what I said in the past. The situation is clear for me that the player, agent and the club knew very well the future of the player in the summer, they knew very well. I don’t understand why a lawyer is getting involved, I don’t understand this.

CLUB COMMENTS – We don’t usually respond to comments like this but I think that it is important that we do on this occasion. The premise the lawyer has put forward is wrong. The decision on Diego was made in January, the player knew the decision, as did the agent. Clearly the lawyer has not been well informed. The lawyer’s argument that the club have forced the player out is nonsense, as a club we are going to leave it there.

Will Morata start on Sunday?

“I have another day to make the best decision for the starting XI. He is working very well to reach the best physical condition and working with our idea of football. He needs a bit of time before to be ready to do this but is working very well. I don’t know which will be my decision on Sunday. He is a really good person and player.”

Batshuayi and Morata together?

“In this moment it could be a possibility, when you have Hazard injured and Pedro injured I don’t see another option, you have only option. I tried this combination. This could be an option for me. For sure, Alvaro wants to play number nine but with his characteristics he could play as number 10.”
