As per a report from Italian football expert Gianluca DiMarzio this evening, Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic has signed a new deal with the club, ahead of an imminent loan move to Russian side Spartak Moscow.
Out of favour
Pasalic, a Croatian international midfielder, arrived at Chelsea from Hajduk Split in 2014 with a beaming reputation as a talented goalscoring midfielder.
However, the 22-year-old has since failed to make a single senior appearance for the London outfit, having been sent out on loan for the past 3 seasons.
Stints with Spanish outfit Elche and Ligue 1 giants Monaco during the 2014 and 2015 seasons were followed by a relatively successful spell with AC Milan in Serie A last year, during which Pasalic notched 5 goals in 24 Italian top-flight appearances.
Despite having failed to secure a place in Antonio Conte’s plans for the coming season, Chelsea have today shown that they have not yet given up on their midfield dynamo, with Sky Sport Italia correspondent Gianluca DiMarzio revealing that Pasalic has signed a new contract with the Blues ahead of yet another loan move.
The Croatian will join Russian champions Spartak Moscow for the 2017/18 season, with an official announcement expected shortly.
