Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti admits Chelsea ‘could try to do something’ to land Antonio Candreva.
The Blues are looking to sign the 30-year-old Italy international in a £25m deal.
Spalletti said: “My position is to keep him and the club agrees with me, for now he has not shown any other signals.
“We go forward calmly, then I don’t know what could happen tomorrow. As far as I can tell, Chelsea could try to do something.”
Liverpool will try to end Diego Costa’s Chelsea nightmare if they lose Philippe Coutinho.
Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Jurgen Klopp is ready to challenge Atletico Madrid for the striker’s signature.
But a shock switch from Anfield depends on Coutinho and his potential move to Barcelona.
The reports say Liverpool will use the Coutinho money – likely to be upwards of £120m if he does leave – to get Costa out of Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Conte would resign at Chelsea if the club demanded Costa’s return, pundit Phil Thompson believes.
Costa is currently on strike as he looks to push through a move to Atletico following Conte’s snub earlier this summer.
Thompson told Sky Sports: “[Chelsea] would take Costa back tomorrow, I’m sure. Conte will have none of it.
“That would see him walk, he would walk out straight away. There’s conflict, that all filters down to the players.”
