Chelsea pair Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko have handed Antonio Conte a huge boost ahead of Sunday’s clash against Tottenham by playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly against QPR.
Hazard suffered ligament damage in his ankle in June but returned to first-team training last week ahead of schedule.
Bakayoko completed a £35million move to the club in July but had to undergo minor knee surgery to clear up a long-standing issue.
Chelsea lost their first Premier League fixture of the season to Burnley at Stamford Bridge and face a daunting trip to face Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.
However, Bakayoko and Hazard have handed Conte a timely boost by featuring in today’s game at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground.
The game was arranged specifically to allow the pair to get some playing time but it’s unclear if they could form part of Chelsea’s 18-man squad on Sunday. The Blues will be without Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas for the London derby following their red cards against the Clarets.
