CHELSEA are set to sign Inter Milan star Antonio Candreva for £22.6m.
That’s according to Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni amid speculation Antonio Conte wants the winger at Stamford Bridge next season.
The Chelsea gaffer is familiar with what Candreva has to offer having coached the 30-year-old during his spell in charge of Italy.
And this summer he’s been linked with a raid to nab him from Inter as competition for current right wing-back Victor Moses.
The Serie A giants’ supposed valuation of Candreva has ranged from between £20m and to more than £35m.
Bucchioni reckons Chelsea are set to pay £22.6m for Candreva – almost £3m more than Inter handed over to Lazio for him last summer.
Writing for Tutto Mercato Web, he said: “At the same time, the Nerazzurri [Inter] are selling Candreva to Chelsea for €25m (£22.6m).
“The British had offered defender [Andreas] Christensens, 21, in part-exchange. Inter disagreed.”
Conte is in the market for a rival to Chelsea’s left wing-back, Marcos Alonso, as well.
Juventus defender Alex Sandro is thought to be his No.1 choice for that role.
Although a swoop to re-sign Ryan Bertrand from Southampton has been touted if signing the Brazilian proves impossible.
