Chelsea will make a “concrete” bid to sign Fernando Llorente from Swansea City this week, according to reports in the British media.
The Independent is reporting that the Blues are set to firm up their interest in the 32-year-old forward as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his Chelsea squad ahead of the transfer deadline on Thursday night.
Chelsea have been linked with a whole host of players throughout the summer, but the Blues have only brought in Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata so far.
Conte knows Llorente well, having coached the striker during the pair’s time together at Juventus.
Now, the story in the Independent says that Conte is getting ready to firm up Chelsea’s “long-standing” interest in signing Llorente with an official bid this week.
The same article claims that Conte is looking to bring in at least three more players before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
As well as Llorente, Conte is keen to bring in a midfielder and a wing-back before the transfer window drops shut on Thursday night, according to the same story.
Chelsea were 2-0 winners over Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to leave them with six points from their opening three games.
