Chelsea full-time player ratings: Alonso the star but Christensen is a rock in Spurs win

Thibaut Courtois

Could do nothing for the goal and made some massive saves for the Blues, especially in the first half. Commanded his box really well to come and claim balls in the box. 8

Antonio Rudiger

Turned inside and out by Harry Kane early in the half to let the England international have a big chance. Not the best of games for the new man, but will surely get better. 6

Cesar Azpilicueta

Grew into the game and made some massive blocks to lead by example. However, sometimes went to try to win the ball when it wasn’t there and got caught out by Dele Alli. 7

Andreas Christensen

Despite his slight error in the first 15 minutes, the young Dane rarely put a foot wrong in the game. Kane spent most of the time on Rudiger’s side, showing just how well he battled and maturity that he showed. 9

David Luiz

Conte spoke on Friday how important players like Luiz are, and once again he proved his worth to this Chelsea team. Was crucial in front of the back three and picked up the pieces. Allowed Kante and Bakayoko to move further forward to help Morata and Willian. 9

N’Golo Kante

Had a much better second half and was back to the Kante of last season with some of his tackling. Needs to link up play better though when in a more advanced role, but buzzed around the pitch well. 8

Tiemoue Bakayoko

So impressive that he managed to play the full 90 minutes and will feel all the better for it. Foolish free-kick to give away for Spurs’ goal, but there are signs of what is to come for Chelsea. 6

Victor Moses

Was really impressive on the right with his defensive duties to not let Ben Davies have a free run down the left and helping out Azpilicueta with Alli. 8

Marcos Alonso

The man of the moment. A wonderful free-kick and then the winner. Fantastic from the Spaniard. Alex Sandro who? 9

Willian

At times flattered to deceive as well, when the play needed more pace he slowed it down a little too much. However, rattled the post and did have some nice touches to try to get Morata into play. 7

Alvaro Morata

Needs to be stronger in the Premier League and often was beaten to the ball by the Spurs defence. That horror miss early in the half could well have played on his mind. 7
