Chelsea have reportedly demanded four things they want from wantaway striker Diego Costa before they even consider selling him.
Costa has been on an extended summer break in Brazil while his team-mates have already begun the defence of their Premier League crown, albeit disastrously after they were beaten at home by Burnley on Saturday.
Antonio Conte has made it clear to the Spain forward that he no longer has a future at Stamford Bridge, with Costa hoping to eventually force through a return to Atletico Madrid once their transfer ban is up in January.
Blues chiefs, however, have demanded four things from the player before he can head back to Spain, according to an exclusive report in The Sun.
* He must return to Cobham
* Costa must return to training
* He must prove his match fitness
* And Costa must put him into contention for a first-team place.
Chelsea have refuted Costa’s claims that he is being forced to train with the club’s Under-23 side, while the club can also continue fining him for a breach of their conduct until he returns.
Costa is also said to have been told that every game he misses will cost him two weeks wages, which adds up to around £300,000.
The 28-year-old had commented that he was being treated “like a criminal” by the club, although it is understood that he has not officially contacted the PFA over those claims.
