Chelsea Clear To Sign £50m Star As Manchester United Abandon Transfer

Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the 27-year-old and is keen on strengthening at left-back. The England international fueled speculation that he would leave Tottenham by publicly criticising the club’s pay structure and admitting he’d consider bids from rival clubs.

However, United were frustrated in negotiations with Spurs over Eric Dier earlier this summer and have abandoned their move for Rose, according to the Daily Star.

Rose has launched an outspoken attack on the club and questioned their lack of ambition.

The defender urged Spurs to sign more world class stars and admitted he would be open to offers if he could secure a huge deal elsewhere.

Rose spoke out after learning United boss Jose Mourinho was interested in taking him to Old Trafford.

But Starsport understands United have now ditched plans to sign Rose with Spurs also adamant he will not be leaving this summer.

It is understood the London outfit reckon selling Rose would leave them in danger of appearing to pander to his wishes.

That will be music to the ears of Chelsea, who plan to submit a £50million bid for the full-back this weekend.
The Blues visit Wembley to take on Tottenham on Sunday and will table their bid for Rose afterwards.

Antonio Conte rates Rose highly and believes the full-back is perfect to play left wing-back in his 3-4-3 formation.

The Italian’s far from impressed with his side’s transfer business so far this summer and wants three new players in in the next fortnight. As well as Rose, Conte wants a centre-back and a central midfielder.
