CHELSEA have seen their chances of signing Inter Milan star Antonio Candreva increase.
That’s according to the Mirror, who claim the Serie A giants are ready to sell the Italy international if they bring in the replacement they’ve got lined up.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has so far splashed out more than £140m on deals for Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger.
But he’s not resting on his laurels as the Blues prepare to make a Champions League return, with a host of targets still on his radar.
Conte wants to bring in Alex Sandro from Juventus to compete with Marcos Alonso for a starting spot on the left side of defence.
And the Mirror reckon he’s keen to secure a rival for current right wing-back Victor Moses in the form of Inter’s Candreva.
The newspaper claim Chelsea’s hopes of landing the 30-year-old have been handed a boost after Luciano Spalletti identified his replacement.
Lazio wideman Keita Balde Diao is apparently the man Inter have chosen to come in for Candreva this summer.
And the Mirror reckon his capture would free up Candreva to be sold to Chelsea.
Spalletti is not the only gaffer chasing Keita though, with Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri after him too.
And Conte will likely be hoping his successor in Turin misses out on a deal for the Senegal ace so he can nab Candreva.
The Mirror suggest it will take a fee of about £23m to reunite Conte with the winger/wing back, who he coached when he was in charge of his country.
Aside from Candreva, Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on Chelsea’s shortlist of players who could battle it out with Moses next season.
