Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid on a two-year loan.
The German champions also have the option to buy the Colombia international, who was heavily linked with Manchester United and Chelsea.
A statement from Bayern read: ‘FC Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have agreed on the change of Colombian national player James Rodríguez to the German championship on Tuesday.
‘The two clubs agreed on a two-year loan transaction until June 30, 2019 with the following purchase option for FC Bayern Munich.
‘James Rodriguez will sign his contract in Munich after successfully completing the compulsory medical check.’
Chelsea would now have to look for other alternatives after this deal.
