CHELSEA ace Diego Costa would be welcome at Besiktas.
That’s what the Turkish giants’ boss Senol Gunes has revealed as doubts persist over where the hitman’s future lies.
Costa, 28, revealed last month that Antonio Conte informed him by text that he’s free to leave Chelsea this summer.
And a return to Atletico Madrid, where the Spain international made his name, has been touted in spite of their transfer ban.
AS claimed yesterday that Besiktas could offer Costa the chance to stay fit with a loan move to Istanbul before heading to his adopted homeland when their ban ends in January.
And Gunes has now told reporters at the club’s Nevzat Demir training ground that he’d be keen to tie up a deal for Costa.
The Besiktas gaffer said: “Then there is Diego Costa, I want him but it will not be easy to pull off.
“If Diego is open to coming I would not say no.
More in the news…
“I could not refuse such a striker.”
Amid the confusion surrounding where Costa will be next season, an insider has told Starsport he could yet play for Chelsea again.
They said: “Why not?
“Crazier things have happened – it’s only a spat and I believe Chelsea are trying to make things calm.”
