CHELSEA have decided to send Ruben Loftus-Cheek out on loan to gain first team experience.
Loftus-Cheek is viewed by Chelsea as one of the best prospects to emerge from their academy.
He has been a prominent figure for England’s under-21s and only injury prevented him from playing at the recent European Championships.
But despite his promise, the 21-year-old has struggled to make an impression since making his debut in 2014.
The midfielder made just six appearances for the Premier League champions last season and at the end of the campaign, Antonio Conte hinted he would consider letting him leave.
And according to the Telegraph, Loftus-Cheek will be allowed to leave during the transfer window.
It is claimed a number of Premier League clubs are interested in the player including promoted duo Newcastle and Brighton.
Last week, former Newcastle interim manager John Carver pleaded with Rafa Benitez to raid Chelsea and Liverpool for their young talent.
“Going into this market with Rafa’s experience, with his connections in the game at Chelsea and Liverpool, I know they’ve been linked with a young boy from Liverpool – Ojo,” he told talkSPORT.
“You were talking about [Chelsea players, Nathaniel] Chalobah and [Ruben] Loftus-Cheek, why don’t they go in and get two or three of those? That’ll improve the squad slowly but surely.
“He needs three or four hardcore game-changers, marquee players. For example a centre forward who’s going to chip in with 12, 15, 16 goals. That’ll almost guarantee you Premier League status for next season.”
