Chelsea appear to have wrapped up their second signing of the summer after Ajax wonderkid Daishawn Redan was pictured holding up a club shirt at Stamford Bridge.
The 16-year-old is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters to come through the ranks at Ajax in recent times and has been tracked by a number of European giants.
Manchester United, Man City and RB Leipzig have all been linked with the teenager, but it now looks certain that it is Chelsea who have got their man.
Reports emerged in Redan’s native Netherlands at the end of June suggesting he had agreed a professional deal with the Premier League champions and would sign once the window opened.
And now he has been pictured holding up a Chelsea shirt at the club’s stadium, with an official announcement expected imminently.
The Daily Mirror reports that the Blues beat fellow Premier League sides Manchester United and Manchester City in the race to the land the teenager forward this summer.
This is not the first time where Chelsea have captured a player from under the noses of United as they signed midfielder Jon Obi Mikel after the player had reported agreed a deal with the Manchester club in 2006.
The Premier League champions have already been quite active in the transfer market as they also confirmed the signing of former City goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a free transfer at the start of the month.
Redan has proved himself to be a fantastic player on the international stage as he has featured for the Holland national team across the Under 15, Under 16 and Under 17 levels.
The teenager has made a total of 29 international appearances and he produced some impressive performances, scoring 21 goals in the process.
The forward is likely to join up with the Chelsea Under 18 squad next season as he looks to further his development as a footballer in the English capital.
