CHELSEA have reportedly agreed a deal with Roma for centre-back Antonio Rudiger.
Rudiger, 24, is among Antonio Conte’s targets to boost his back line ahead of next season.
The Germany defender has starred in Serie A since joining from Stuttgart back in 2015.
And now The Telegraph say the deal is all but done between Chelsea and Roma to bring him to Stamford Bridge next season.
Their report claims a £30m fee for the player has been agreed as well as the defender’s personal terms.
Now Rudiger just has to complete a medical with the Blues next week before the deal can be pushed across the line.
The Telegraphs’s report also claims that Chelsea are set to have crunch talks with Juventus today for left-back Alex Sandro.
He could cost substantially more than Rudiger at around £60m as Juve battle to keep him with the offer of a new contract.
Despite keeping the best defensive record in the Premier League last season, Chelsea’s back line is set to look substantially different by September as Conte prepares for a Champions League campaign.
The Blues are also set to sign Monaco ace Tiemoue Bakayoko as a replacment for Manchester United-bound Nemanja Matic.
