CHELSEA want Nathaniel Chalobah to sign a bumper new deal.
That’s according to the Mirror amid speculation the midfielder is planning to leave Stamford Bridge in search of first-team football.
Chalobah has been with Chelsea since 2005 after leaving their west London rivals Fulham behind as a youngster.
And last season he was handed his senior debut before Antonio Conte integrated him into his squad as they marched to Premier League glory.
Chalobah is apparently hoping to establish himself as a force elsewhere having made just 15 appearances for Chelsea.
And The Sun are reporting today that he’s had a £5m price tag slapped on him.
However, the Mirror seem to think that claim is wide of the mark.
They say Chalobah has been offered a fresh five-year deal to stay put.
That would take his wages from £45,000 to £65,000 a week – meaning he’d rake in £17m over its duration.
Conte is said to be a big fan of Chalobah, who’s got just 12 months left on his current contract.
But he may need to promise the 22-year-old will get more opportunities to keep him at Chelsea.
