Chelsea close to signing Bayern Munich ace as Nemanja Matic nears exit

Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches while Nemanja Matic gets nearer to the Stamford Bridge exit.

Rumours linking Renato Sanches with a Chelsea loan switch are growing in strength with each passing day. The latest reports claim that the Blues will bow to Bayern Munich’s demands. This is good timing, too, as Nemanja Matic is apparently on the verge of signing a Manchester United contract.

Bayern Munich have strengthened their squad further this summer, leading to an embarrassment of riches. Hence, they are looking to offload some fringe players for the season. After a disappointing first campaign with the German champions, Sanches is one of those players apparently available.

The midfielder impressed against Chelsea in their pre-season friendly clash. His performance only proved that he would be a youngster worth taking a chance on. Fortunately, the Blues management team agree.

The arrival of Sanches may speed up the evolution towards the 3-5-2 formation. That system is believed to be the holy grail for Antonio Conte. The dynamism in the midfielder’s play makes the set-up more plausible.

The development in this transfer saga comes at a good time as well. Nemanja Matic is apparently on the verge of sealing his Manchester United switch. The Serbian’s departure creates a space in the first team squad. While optimistic fans will be hoping for an academy graduate to fill the void, Sanches is more likely.

Sanches would give Conte four realistic starting options in the middle of the park. With N’Golo Kante, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Cesc Fabregas, the Bayern man would provide the boss with a varied range of midfield partnerships.

But what do you think? Is Renato Sanches a good signing? Should Chelsea really be letting Nemanja Matic go to Premier League rivals Manchester United? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

  2. He is a young hard worker & bringing him in, is what Chelsea will never regret. If chances exit, let’s get him permanently.

  3. I think i a good move. We are playing in 4 competitions dis season and our team must be filled with stars in other to avoid exhausting of players

  5. not bad… but the blues are gambling with a whole lot of players inexperienced about the EPL. without doubt Morata, Bakayoko, Rudiger and maybe Renato are good players but we know how difficult the EPL can be… anyways goodluck for the upcoming season, I can’t wait. KTBFFH
