A Thomas Muller brace helped Bayern Munich overcome Chelsea in their International Champions Cup fixture at the National Stadium in Singapore.
Rafinha gave the Germans the lead with just six minutes played when his long-range shot flew into the back of the net before Muller was left unmarked in the box to double his side’s lead five minutes later.
Muller scored his second in impressive fashion, bringing the ball forward before unleashing an unstoppable drive which left Thibaut Courtois with no chance.
Marcos Alonso pulled one back for Chelsea at the end of the first half; and Antonio Conte introduced Alvaro Morata in the second half for his debut.
Michy Batshuayi made it a nervy finish for Bayern when he tapped home with four minutes to play but the Germans held on to secure a deserved victory.
Chelsea settled down and ended the first half well, emphasised when Marcos Alonso lashed in a goal. The second half was a more even affair, with Alvaro Morata introduced during it. David Luiz struck woodwork before Michy Batshuayi scored from close-range but in the end time ran out on the quest to salvage a draw.
