CELTIC are in the hunt for Chelsea’s Belgian super kid Charly Musonda.
Boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to land an attacking playmaker and the 20-year-old fits the bill.
Musonda has spent the last 18 months on loan to Real Betis and is contracted to Chelsea until 2019.
But Celtic are ready to make a £5million move ahead of their Champions League campaign.
Rodgers would not comment on the Musonda link after the Hoops’ 1-1 pre-season draw with Rapid Vienna, but the talented Blues star is the style of No.10 he wants.
Rodgers – speaking about the player he craves – said: “I’m talking about a player of pedigree. It’s about getting pace and power and also another one that can make the last pass.
“Someone of that ability, it’s how the make-up of my teams has always had. Look at Liverpool with Sturridge and Suarez and Coutinho.”
It is believed the former Anderlecht kid, who spent last year on loan at La Liga club Real Betis in Spain, is the attacking midfielder that he is closing in on.
