CHELSEA are reportedly willing to pay a club-record £60million to sign Juventus star Alex Sandro.
Sandro, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his ranks ahead of next season.
The left-back is viewed as a perfect fit for Conte’s 3-4-3 system as he bids to build a squad capable of defending the Premier League title and competing in the Champions League.
Chelsea held fresh talks over his future with Juventus yesterday to get an idea of where Sandro is likely to be next term.
It is now apparently down to the player whether or not he will move to west London.
The Serie A champions are determined to keep the Brazil international and are keen to offer him a £93,000-a-week contract extension.
But The Telegraph say the Blues are prepared to better their offer and meet the £60m price demand Juventus have set.
Should Chelsea complete a £60m deal for Sandro, then it will eclipse the £50m they paid for Fernando Torres in 2011.
However, this may not be the first time they break their transfer record this summer with Everton star Romelu Lukaku also wanted.
Conte has supposedly told Chelsea that they must re-sign the Belgium international at any price, even if that means meeting their £100m valuation.
The Italian tried to sign Lukaku during his time at Juve and wants him to replace Diego Costa, who has been told via text that he is no longer part of his plans.
It is said Costa is in negotiations with Atletico Madrid about a return to Spain.
But he will be unable to join the La Liga side until at least the New Year with the club currently serving a transfer ban.
