Chelsea are favourites to sign midfielder Corentin Tolisso from Lyon this summer.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from this season’s Europa League semi-finalists during the upcoming summer transfer window, with several top clubs reportedly interested in acquiring his much coveted signature.
Sky Bet have the reigning Premier League as 7/4 favourites to bring in Tolisso, while Bayern Munich are the France international’s second most likely destination at odds of 6/1 as they seek a replacement for the recently retired Xabi Alonso.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are priced at 8/1, with Juventus at 18/1 and Manchester City at 25/1. It is 11/10 that Tolisso will stay at Lyon beyond this summer.
There have been suggestions that Chelsea see Tolisso as a possible upgrade on Nemanja Matic. However, the evidence suggests that the comparatively experienced Matic is, at present, a better option than the Lyon youngster.
Indeed, Matic won more tackles and made more interceptions per game than Tolisso this season, while he also had a superior average pass accuracy.
Tolisso did, however, create a higher amount of chances and complete more passes than any player across the entire Lyon squad (1,645).
