THIBAUT COURTOIS has turned down Chelsea’s latest contract offer.
The Belgian’s current deal runs until June 30, 2019 and he is no rush to sign new terms at Stamford Bridge.
Courtois is keen to see what happens with other goalkeepers in the transfer window before making a definitive decision.
Spanish outlet Marca say the 25-year-old is watching what is going on at Real Madrid, Paris St-Germain and Manchester United.
David De Gea, Keylor Navas, Jan Oblak and Gianluigi Donnarumma have all been linked with moves away from their current clubs.
And Courtois is keen to keep his options open for now.
If one of the above goalkeepers move it could cause somewhat of a chain reaction with Europe’s elite shot stoppers switching clubs.
Courtois was in fine form last season, making 36 Premier League appearances as Chelsea won the title in Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge.
But the Blues couldn’t make it a domestic double as they were beaten in the FA Cup final by Arsenal.
Chelsea will start the defence of their Premier League crown at home to Burnley.
Conte will be hoping to overhaul his squad before then as the Blues prepare for a return to the Champions League.
