CHELSEA are reportedly prepared to hand Eden Hazard a bumper wage rise to snub a move to Real Madrid.
The Belgium international was back to his brilliant best this season as the Blues secured Premier League glory and reached the FA Cup final.
And his form under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge has seen him widely touted as a top transfer target for La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Bernabeu chief Florentino Perez is thought to be willing to sanction a world-record £100m deal to take Hazard to Spain.
But Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is apparently ready to splash some serious cash of his own in order to keep hold of the winger.
According to the Sunday Express, Hazard can expect to earn £320,000 a week if he puts pen to paper on a new contract.
That figure would represent a £120,000 a week increase on his current deal, which still has three years left to run.
And Hazard would also leapfrog Manchester United star Paul Pogba – who earns £290,000 a week – to become the top flight’s highest-paid player.
Chelsea’s desire to tie the former Lille man down may have been ramped up this week by claims his agents have met with Real Madrid three times.
That said, Hazard recently committed his future to the west Londoners for at least two more seasons, saying: “I’m good here.
“I’m at one of the best clubs in the world and I think I’m gonna stay for a couple of years.”
