Bayern Munich reportedly contacted Real Madrid earlier this year regarding a deal to sign midfielder James Rodriguez and the Colombian’s future at the Bernabeu remains very much in doubt.
Rodriguez has a number of suitors, but Premier League champions Chelsea are preparing their move for the attacker, with Antonio Conte informing the hierarchy that he wishes the club shells out €80m to sign him.
The former Monaco star has been in and out of the first-team under Zinedine Zidane and would consider leaving the La Liga champions this summer, with reports claiming that he would like to reunite with Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Ancelotti was the manager of Real Madrid in 2014 when they brought Rodriguez to the club and he enjoyed his best spell at the club under the Italian’s stewardship.
PSG are also said to be interested in signing the playmaker during the summer transfer window, but Bayern seem to be his preferred destination.
