CHELSEA have reportedly completed their first signing of the summer with Ajax wonderkid Daishawn Redan joining the club.
The Blues, along with Manchester United, have been tracking the 16-year-old for some time after it emerged he’d be leaving Ajax in March.
Manchester City and RB Leipzig have also been showing interest but reports in Holland say he has decided to join Premier League champions Chelsea.
Dutch publication Voetbalzone claim Redan has put pen to paper on his contract with the Blues and will join the club from July 1.
Redan looks to be leaving his boyhood club on bad terms though.
Ajax head of youth Said Ouaali said: “We have mapped out a path for him and there have been discussions with him and his management.
“It is extremely regrettable, obviously they have something else on their minds.
“We have made every effort to maintain a great talent as Daishawn, but at some point it ends.
“We wish him all the best with the rest of his career.”
Daishawn will be joining a Chelsea academy that has enjoyed plenty of success in recent seasons, winning the Uefa Youth League in 2015 and 2016.
