ANTONIO RUDIGER’s brother and representative Sahr Senesie is reportedly on his way to London to hold talks with Chelsea.
Chelsea are in the market for a new centre-half following the sale of Nathan Ake to Bournemouth this week and imminent departure of John Terry.
Moves for Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci and Roma’s Kostas Manolas have both been mooted but have failed to materialise.
And according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, that is because the Blues have been focusing their attention on Antonio Rudiger.
Negotiations for the Roma defender are said to be underway and his brother and agent Sahr Senesie is reportedly en route to London for talks.
The report says an initial £30million transfer fee has been discussed but any bonuses are yet to be outlined.
It is said to be Chelsea’s second attempt to sign Rudiger, after a move fell through last summer when he suffered a cruciate knee injury prior to Euro 2016.
Rudiger joined Roma from Stuttgart in 2015 and has since made 72 appearances for the Italian side.
He is a versatile defender who can play as a centre-back, right-back and occasionally left-back.
