Alvaro Morata would reportedly prefer a move to Chelsea over AC Milan, but the Blues are struggling to agree a fee with Real Madrid.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte failed with a bid to sign the Spanish international last summer as Real opted to keep hold, but he is hoping for more luck this time around.
It remains to be seen if Real boss Zinedine Zidane will let Morata move on after he showed what a class forward he is when given a chance in the Los Blancos side this season.
Morata’s game time was limited but he still managed to score 15 goals, most after coming off the bench, and Zidane may be reluctant to let him go.
However, Morata wants more regular football and both Chelsea and Milan are reported to be leading the race for his signature.
Reports in his homeland of Spain suggest Morata would prefer to join Chelsea over Milan, but the Blues are unwilling to match the £61million valuation, while Milan are, which puts the Italians in the box seat.
Manchester United are also keen, and with so much interest, it means Real will be able to hold out for asking price.
