Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is ‘happy’ at Chelsea but contract talks have not yet started amid links to Spanish champions Real Madrid.
The Belgium international has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu over the past year by a number of Spanish outlets including Marca and AS, but has appeared to play down those links.
“Contract talks haven’t opened but I am happy at Chelsea,” Courtois told Sky Sports after Chelsea’s FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal at Wembley.
“I hope they reward me with a good contract, then there will be no doubt I will sign it.”
Two months ago, the 25-year-old stated ‘he owed Spain a lot’ amid rumours he could return to Madrid, where his family still live.
But, with Madrid going De Gea way, Courtois seems to be staying at Bridge for the foreseeable future.
