PAUL MERSON fully expects Chelsea to claim all three points at home to Middlesbrough.
Tottenham’s defeat to West Ham means the Blues now need just two wins from their final four games to be crowned champions.
And Merson can’t see them having too many problems when they welcome Boro to Stamford Bridge this evening.
Steve Agnew’s side currently sit 19th in the table, seven points adrift of safety.
They must beat the Blues to have any chance of retaining their Premier League status for another season.
But Merson reckons that could play into Chelsea’s hands.
“Middlesbrough went down in the game against City in a blaze of glory,” he told Sky Sports.
“We saw something from them in the game that we haven’t seen for a few weeks.
“The problem is they have to win this game and it could leave them open at the back.
“That’s perfect for the way Chelsea are set up and I can’t see them being stopped, especially in front of their own fans at Stamford Bridge.
“I do fancy Middlesbrough to score but it won’t be enough to halt Chelsea.”
