Alexis Sanchez‘s transfer to Bayern Munich is reportedly in doubt as the Arsenal forward’s wage demands are too high for the Bundesliga champions, which could be good news for Chelsea.
The Chile international is being strongly linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer after failing to agree a new contract with the Gunners in recent months.
Sanchez’s current deal expires at the end of next season, which would allow him to leave Arsenal on a free, meaning a move away for a reduced price could be on the cards this summer.
Bayern are reportedly among the many clubs interested in the former Barcelona man, with reports elsewhere claiming that his agent has held talks with the Bavarian giants.
However, Bild now state that Sanchez is likely to be too expensive for Bayern, putting the deal into doubt due to his £17million-a-year demands.
Bayern are apparently only willing to pay around £13.7million a season to the 28-year-old, which could allow the likes of Chelsea back into contention.
The Premier League champions have long looked serious about signing Sanchez, with Antonio Conte said to be a big fan of the player, and with Sanchez himself publicly stating he’d be keen to stay in London.
