NEWCASTLE have until tomorrow to make a decision over signing Christian Atsu permanently.
Atsu was hugely impressive on loan with the Toon this season, helping them to win the Championship and gain promotion back to the top-flight.
The 25-year-old Ghanian scored five goals and provided three assists in 32 league appearances for Rafa Benitez’s side.
Newcastle can activate a clause in his loan contract meaning they can sign him for £6.5m on a four-year deal.
But The Mirror say they must do so this weekend or he’ll return to Chelsea when they will be able to sell him on to any club for any amount.
Atsu recently spoke out about his future, insisting he is still unsure whether he will return to Newcastle.
He said: “[There have been] no conversations. I have not heard from Newcastle.
“What I will say, though, is that I owe them thanks. They have given me an opportunity – it is a big club.
“I cannot say what will happen with me. I cannot predict football.”
