Chelsea offer key man £4.4m a year wage rise to stay at Stamford Bridge : A good business?

CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte is reportedly set to be offered a huge wage rise amid interest from Inter Milan.

The Italian has enjoyed a stellar first season at Stamford Bridge, winning the Premier League.

And he can make that a Double if the Blues triumph over Arsenal in May 27’s FA Cup final.

Serie A giants Inter Milan are desperate to appoint Conte as their new manager.

But Roman Abramovich is prepared to do what it takes to keep him out of their clutches.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato have learned Conte is currently on £5.1m a year at Chelsea.

And their sources claim an offer of £9.5m a year with bonuses is going to be tabled to him.

That £4.4m wage rise would move Conte up among the highest-paid bosses in world football.

The former Juventus chief will also apparently be handed more control over transfers.

Extra staff could be brought in to ensure Conte feels at home in west London as well.
