CHELSEA legend Frank Lampard has hailed the impact of N’Golo Kante at Stamford Bridge.
Kante, 26, left champions Leicester to join Chelsea for £30m last summer.
He has played a key role in their return to the top of the Premier League table under Antonio Conte this season.
The Frenchman was recently rewarded for his performances with the PFA Player of the Year award.
And Lampard has revealed that a host of Chelsea stars have told him how much they love having Kante in the team.
“I don’t think he’s the sort of player you have to put goals on,” he said on Sky Sports, when quizzed on the midfielder.
“He’s getting in advanced areas. Maybe he can get a few more goals. Other than that what more can he do?
“If you speak to the Chelsea back three, they won’t be able to stop talking about the work he does.
“They look great but he is doing great work in front of them.
“If you speak to Hazard, Pedro, Willian and the frontmen, they will say how much work he does behind them and how quickly he gets the ball into their feet. What more do you want from a midfield player?
“He’s fantastic, he’s humble, he doesn’t want the spotlight. He’s a huge, huge cog in their team.”
