CHELSEA are considering a swoop for Latvian goalkeeper Reinis Reinholds.
The 19-year-old, who finished the season in Italy’s third division, is on trial with the Premier League champions.
Reinholds arrived at Chelsea’s Cobham HQ earlier this week and has a few days to impress, according to Football London.
He is out of contract at Racing Roma after joining the Lega Pro club on a short-term deal in December.
Reinholds, who kept four clean sheets in 19 league appearances, knows Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach Gianluca Spinelli.
In February, his agent Camillo Autieri said: ”Chelsea is great club and English football is wonderful.
“I know the goalkeeper trainer in Chelsea, Gianluca Spinelli, and he is a big professional.
“Gianluca knows Reinis and for sure he could give a positive impression about him.”
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is likely to need goalkeeping back-up ahead of their return to the Champions League.
Asmir Begovic looks set to join Bournemouth while third-choice Eduardo is out of contract next month.
