Chelsea have made contact with Ajax over a possible move for Davinson Sanchez in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Spain.
Sanchez completed a £4million switch to Ajax last summer but the 20-year-old centre-back is already being linked with a big-money move to Stamford Bridge off the back of an impressive Eredivisie campaign.
Sport suggest the Blues have abandoned their plans to bid for Marquinhos this summer, with Manchester United believed to be in pole position to sign the Paris Saint-Germain defender.
It’s understood the Premier League champions have approached Ajax over the availability of Sanchez, with Antonio Conte on the hunt for John Terry’s long-term successor.
Barcelona are also monitoring Sanchez and it’s thought the Catalan giants could battle Chelsea for the Colombian’s signature ahead of the 2017/18 season.
The youngster is regarded as a more realistic target for Chelsea, with Marquinhos insisting that he plans on staying at PSG next season.
Marquinhos is valued at around £60m by the Ligue 1 outfit.
