CHELSEA want to sign Paris St-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola as the replacement for Asmir Begovic this summer.

Begovic has agreed terms with Bournemouth and will move to the Cherries with Antonio Conte looking for a new No.2.

Areola fits the bill as he is looking for a new challenge, according to The Sun.

Thibaut Courtois will remain Conte’s first-choice stopper with Eduardo backup to both him and Areola.

Bournemouth are long-term admirers of Begovic and have finally got their man.

And the former Stoke man was delighted to move to the Cherries.

“AFC Bournemouth is an exciting, ambitious club which has everything in place for a very bright future,” Begovic explained.

“Being part of a title-winning team at Chelsea was amazing but I felt now was the right time to move on because I want to be playing regular football.

“I am coming into an important part of my career and I want to show people what I am capable of.

“When I spoke to Eddie Howe I knew AFC Bournemouth was the right club for me and I want to bring my experience to the squad, both on and off the pitch.

“I’m really excited to be part of the journey here and hope I can help take the club to another level.”

Chelsea starlet Dominic Solanke has also opted to leave the club and join Liverpool today.
