Antonio Conte – “This is what I think of Chelsea’s 4-3 win over Watford”

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte said his youngsters gave him a “good answer” despite some mishaps against Watford.

The newly-crowned champions won 4-3 at Stamford Bridge, where Cesc Fabregas netted a late winner after Conte’s side had lost a two-goal lead.

Michy Batshuayi, who scored for the second game running, Kurt Zouma, Nathan Ake, Kenedy and Nathaniel Chalobah were all given starting places.

And Conte was more than happy with the outcome despite the goals conceded.

“At this stage of the season I like to see this type of game,” he said.

“It’s funny to see both teams score four and three at this stage of the season, but when you have won the league you can allow this type of situation.

“I must be pleased because I made this decision to change a lot and give opportunities to our young players.

“I must be pleased because we conceded three goals but scored four and created many chances to improve the final result. I had a good answer.”

Chelsea’s victory means beating relegated Sunderland in their final match of the season would see them become the first team to win 30 matches in a Premier League campaign.

“We have won 29, which is a great achievement, and we have this great opportunity to win 30 and we must take it and make some records,” Conte said.
