Antonio Conte reveals – “I have only 2 targets at Chelsea”

Chelsea may have won the English Premier League title with two games to spare, but their manager Antonio Conte is not in a mood to let up and spoke of two targets the club still have to accomplish in their final game of the season against Sunderland on Sunday.

Speaking to the media at Cobham (Chelsea’s training ground), the 47-year-old declared, “On Sunday we have two targets, to try to win the 30 games in this league, which would be an unbelievable target for us, and to help Thibaut to win the Golden Glove. And also to prepare the right way the FA Cup final against Arsenal.”

No team has ever won 30 games in a Premier League season before and while relegated Sunderland will not post much of a threat, Chelsea’s fiery Italian manager is not leaving anything to chance.

While Thibaut Courtois leads the Golden Glove charts with 16 clean-sheets, Tottenham Hotspurs’ custodian Hugo Lloris is just one behind and the second-placed Lliywhites travel to relegated Hull on Sunday, seeking a win to end their season on a high.

It’s been a long season for the Blues, who overcame a difficult start to romp to the title and Conte spoke of the importance of his first title in England, adding “it is important to celebrate because this title is a great win, for me, for the players, for the club and for our fans. On Sunday we have to try to win the game and then to celebrate this league is very important.”

The tie against Sunderland will also be a farewell for two of the club’s great servants, captain John Terry and assistant coach Steve Holland. And Conte admits it is an important occasion for Chelsea and he will relish celebrating his maiden Premier League title on Sunday.

“I can’t wait to do this with my players and with the fans, and also to celebrate John, that will be very important and also to celebrate Steve Holland, because he is leaving after eight years and he is an important man in this club. He has won a lot and he worked with many coaches and I have the pleasure to work with him in this season,” Conte added.
