Chelsea manager Antonio Conte joked that he was ‘very angry’ that Diego Costa didn’t get him a piece of chocolate cake during his half time trip to the press room for a snack.
The Blues beat Watford 4-3 on Monday night and it was a celebratory atmosphere at Stamford Bridge after the club’s fifth Premier League title win was wrapped up last Friday.
Costa, who’d been named on the bench for this clash, decided to pass the time with a trip to the press room for a snack during the interval, and is said to have grabbed himself a piece of chocolate cake.
When asked about the incident, Conte said: ‘Which type of food? It’s very important this.’
After hearing it was chocolate cake, the Italian admitted he was ‘very angry’, though not out of concern for his players’ diet.
‘In this case I’m very angry with him because he must think to give me a bit of chocolate cake,’ he said. ‘Because I was suffering during the game.’
