Eden Hazard is already better than Cristiano Ronaldo and will soon be better than Lionel Messi, according to Chelsea teammate Cesc Fabregas.
The Belgian winger came on with half an hour to play in his side’s FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham on Saturday and changed the course of the game.
With the game level at 2-2, the 26-year-old fired an emphatic strike into the bottom corner before setting up Nemanja Matic for the goal that sealed it.
‘Ability wise, there is only one player above him and we all know who he is: Messi. Ability-wise he’s up there with the best,’ Fabregas said after the match.
Messi proved his world-best credentials with a man of the match display in El Clasico on Sunday night and Fabregas, who played alongside the Argentine at Camp Nou, says Hazard needs to be more selfish in order to match him.
‘I’ve told him many, many times, he needs to be selfish sometimes and have that killer instinct to score more goals and then he will be whatever he wants to be,’ Fabregas added.

‘I’ve played with many players and sometimes when we have a counter attack and it’s two against two and he passes the ball, I tell him: ‘You have the capability to score by yourself. Do it’.’
