Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta believes the club is strong enough to survive even if they lose star trio Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois in the summer transfer window.
The Spaniard trusts the Blues to find a solution to any problems that might arise this summer, with speculation that the club’s stars could be in demand after their superb form this term.
Costa has long been linked with a return to Spain and also flirted with a move to China in January, while stories linking Hazard and Courtois to Real Madrid won’t die down.
Still, Azpilicueta is not overly worried about the prospect of them leaving as he fully expects Chelsea to still come back with a strong squad in time for next season.
‘It would be a shame (if they left) because we have a great team,’ Azpilicueta told the Guardian.
‘But the club will work on it with the coach and the technical staff. They will know what he (Antonio Conte) wants.
‘We need to get this season finished first. Then there will be all sorts of rumours. In the end I’m sure we will have a very competitive team again.’
