CHELSEA star N’Golo Kante has played it coy about his hopes of being crowned player of the year.
Kante, 25, left champions Leicester to join Chelsea for around £30m last summer.
And the Frenchman has been key to our return to the top of the table under Antonio Conte this season.
But Kante isn’t so sure, believing fellow Blues Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and David Luiz are all equally deserving of the title, which was won by Riyad Mahrez last term.
”It would be something beautiful,” he told Canal +, when quizzed over his chances.
“But there are quite a few players in the Premier League who deserve this award.
“There is [Eden] Hazard, Diego Costa and David Luiz in my team.”
Kante is currently away on international duty with France.
He played the full ninety minutes as Didier Deschamps’ side dispatched Luxembourg 3-1 on Saturday.
